This section explains how to install Championship Manager and get started. Championship Manager is a football management game where you are the manager. You will have to pick the team, the staff and make sure that the finance are ok. If you do not do any to the standard that the chairman of your chosen club expects then you will be sacked. Championship Manager is the most realistic football management game on the market and has been for around 10 years now. The management game has produced 11 smashing titles and each one see a change in the gaming environment. This is explained on the CM History Page where you can view a write up and see screen shots of the games gone by. The game installs like any other on the PC, simply pop the CD in and wait for it to load up. Should it not load first time click on my computer and then the CD-ROM drive and the CD should now run. Once the CD has loaded the first screen that will appear is the option screen. Chose 'Start New Game' here. The game will the load the necessary data and stop at the next screen which asks you to select the leagues that you wish to play in. Remember you must select the league that the team you wish to manage as 'Foreground' not 'Background' as this means that the full league and all players and competitions will be involved. By selecting a league as 'Background' you are telling the computer that you want the leagues to run in the background so that you may switch them to 'Foreground'. If you plan on becoming a national manager you will also need to have the national league selected as 'Background'. I would recommend that you only start with only the English league selected so you can become familiar with the game first and do not have to much data to deal with. Once you have selected the league/s that you wish to play in click 'Next'. Now you will be asked to select the team that you wish to manage. All of the teams within the leagues that you have selected will be able to be viewed. Simply click on a team to view them. If the team is to you liking click the 'Take Control' button in the top right of the screen. You will then be asked to enter you name. Now select 'Done' and the game data will load up. Once this data is loaded the first screen that you will see is the main Championship Manager screen where all of the data except for that within the matches appears. This screen will become very familiar so no need to panic now if it all looks a bit confusing. There are 6 main buttons featured within Championship Manager games today. These buttons will always stay on the left hand side of the screen, except when you go in to a match and the screen changes. These 6 main buttons are Managers Name, Competitions, Nations and Clubs, Find, Game Options and Continue. Remember you can click on almost anything in Championship Manager to view information so it is really just a case of installing it like stated above and then refering to what I say in CM Tips ans other pages on the site.
